Campus DevCon at Capitol University

Campus DevCon at Capitol University is a gathering in partnership with Capitol University that aims to augment the academic learnings of students with up-to-date trends in the IT industry. The event converges an average of 200 students taking up Computer Science or other IT-related courses.
This Campus DevCon has 2 components:
Lightning Talks (LT)
LTs are very quick presentations delivered with or without auxiliary visual materials. Each speaker has a maximum of 10 minutes to present his idea, including preparation time, self, introduction, Q&A, etc. There are usually 6-8 LTs per Campus DevCon.
Birds of a Feather (BoF)
BoF is an informal debate on tech topics with 3 volunteers from two opposing sides. A BoF panel will judge on who's the best team. Examples of BoF topics are "iOS vs Android", "Does technology improve or harm a person's social life?" and "Windows vs Linux".

1:00PM – 1:15: Intro to DevCon by Jhisied Niel Arcala, DevCon CDO Recruitment Officer
1:15PM – 4:00PM: Lightning Talks (LT)

Edmund Salcedo Jr., Unity Developer/Designer at Engagis on "Applications of VR"
Marl Ian Dionaldo, Founder at ShopLocal.ph on "Why Start-up?"
Paul Michael Labis, Software Developer at Practice Insight GmbH on “Java Developer Tech-Stack”
Jessonle Solana, Computer Programmer at Oroport Cargo Handling Services Inc. on "The Advantage of a Beginner's Mind"
4:300PM – 4:30PM: Birds of a Feather (BoF)
4:30PM – 5:00PM: Closing Remarks
1. Priority is given to Capitol University students. Extra slots will be given to outsiders.
